Mirabella Seattle Appoints Last Two Directors
Preparations almost complete for December 15 opening
(Seattle, Washington) December 10, 2008 – Mirabella Seattle, a new Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that opens on December 15 in South Lake Union, announced today that it has hired its final two department directors—Joanie Vivaz and Heather Nucifora, RD.
Joanie Vivaz is Director of Resident Services. A longtime Seattle resident, Joanie graduated from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Prior to joining Mirabella, she owned her own events company and enjoyed a former library career with King County and Reed College Library in Portland, Ore. Joanie has a passion for serving seniors, and she has cultivated many extensive relationships throughout the local senior community through volunteer coordination and community outreach projects. Joanie enjoys spending time with her two boys, ages 11 and 14.
Heather Nucifora, RD, is Director of Dining Services. Heather graduated from the dietetics program at the University of Connecticut, where she received her food science degree and became a registered dietitian (RD). She also won a scholarship from the Connecticut Women’s Culinary Alliance to attend the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York. Heather then settled in Seattle, Wash., working first as a Clinical Nutrition Manager for a Seattle CCRC, and later for Nestlé Nutrition Division, where she attended the CIA in Napa, California, receiving special training in healthy cooking. Heather earned her culinary certificate from the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in Vancouver, B.C.
After a career as Chef Manager at one of the largest nonprofit health care providers in Washington, Heather was referred to Mirabella and “couldn’t pass up the wonderful opportunity to create an industry benchmark in fine dining services.” Heather believes that Mirabella’s dining program will meet and exceed many, if not all, of the greater Seattle area restaurants in quality and service. Mirabella is excited about Heather’s leadership in delivering this vision and standard to its residents and guests.
