Progress on a beautiful summer week in July! This is a view from the SW corner of Fairview Avenue and Denny Way looking northeast. This is the signature view of the building as we are looking at the Gateway Corner for the South Lake Union Neighborhood. This is known as Zone 4. The concrete deck has been poured for level-3 along with the columns for this zone. The exterior framing is completed along level-1 for both Zones 3 and 4 and the waterproof membrane visible in blue has been installed in preparation for the start of the pre-cast concrete and masonry veneer.

Here is a view from the deck area of an Assisted Living Unit on level-3 looking west out across the courtyard and the driveway entrance off of Fairview Avenue. On the right side of the photograph the level-2 circular balcony that is over the entrance driveway is visible. The large structural members visible in the forefront of the photograph are part of the large form work tables that will be used during the concrete deck construction for floors 4 and above.

This is a view looking South down Minor Avenue at the corner of John Street. The exterior framing is visible on both the basement level and level-1 at this area. The area bounded by the yellow sheathing is meeting rooms with the Wood Shop and Human Resource Offices below at street level.

This is a view looking east across Fairview Avenue at Zone 4. The street level of this zone will be retail space. I wanted to point out the first pre-cast concrete panel that was installed today which is in the center of the photograph between the Turner sign and the tree. This is the first permanent exterior component installed on the building. The lower base of the building will have these pre-cast panels installed prior to starting the brick veneer or other permanent finishes above. |
