Here we are at the end of March and it is time to update our Web Site. One of the first things to notice about this view is that the south crane has been removed! The crane was removed last week and work is already underway to fill in the holes on each floor. This is a view from the southwest corner of Fairview Avenue and Denny Way looking northeast. This is the signature view of the building as we are looking at the Gateway Corner for the South Lake Union Neighborhood. This is known as Zone 4. As you can see the exterior progress is evident with stucco and railings being installed on the decks along Denny and Fairview. The metal-panel exterior skin has been completed along Denny up to the third level.

Here is a view looking west to northwest down Denny Way toward Mirabella, with the Space Needle in the background behind Zone 4 on the left. As you can see there are very few windows that have not been installed along the top floors. Most of these windows are being held out for access to the exterior. All equipment has been placed on the roof for zones 3 and 4 allowing the dismantling of the south tower crane. You can see the progress of the metal-panel exterior cladding being installed up to level-3 along both ends of Minor Ave. This view also shows the progress of the stucco installation on the individual unit decks, with both the light and dark colors being installed.

This is a view from level-11 looking southeast back across the courtyard towards Zone 3. The masonry veneer is completed for the south side of the interior courtyard and the adjacent side has only one floor to complete. The exterior deck coating, stucco, and railing installation is visible on the south side courtyard units. All of the major mechanical equipment has been place on the roof and work is underway to close in all of the equipment.

This is a view of the 3rd floor community activities space at the southeast corner of Zone 3. Most of the finishes including the flooring have been installed with only the fireplace surround and some finishing cabinet touches left.

This is a view from Denny Way near the Lenora Street intersection looking east to northeast down Denny Way toward Mirabella. From this perspective the lack of the crane on the south side of the building is very apparent. The exterior structure will not change from this point but more exterior details and finishes will continue to be installed. The excellent and diverse level of exterior detailing dramatically enhances the building’s presence in the neighborhood. |
