Today the Mirabella Construction Team had a “Topping Out” luncheon, as the last construction deck is scheduled to be poured on 1/21/08! What a huge milestone! Basically 750,000 square feet of building was constructed structurally in close to one year. This is a view from the southwest corner of Fairview Avenue and Denny Way looking northeast. This is the signature view of the building as we are looking at the Gateway Corner for the South Lake Union Neighborhood. This is known as Zone 4. The work is continuing on preparing for the last roof deck pour. The curtain (window) wall is now up to level-8 on the corner windows. The exterior framing is progressing on level-11 for this zone. Interior finishes are continuing on level-2-5 for all zones, with Drywall starting on level-6.

Here is a view looking west to northwest down Denny Way toward Mirabella, with the Space Needle in the background behind Zone 4 on the left. The completed framing and sheathing for level-11 is visible in Zone 4, and moving around Zone 3. The form work tables for the roof level for zones 4 with level-3 already poured. Work continues on the parapets and roof curbs on the level-12 roof over zones 2 and 1. The installation of the exterior water and vapor barrier, “Blueskin”, is continuing on the exterior sheathing to allow the veneer to be applied at a later date while drying-in the building.
