Construction is Under Way!

Another picture perfect July day in Portland! Mirabella continues to climb skyward, the level-14 post-tensioned slab was poured on Wednesday, July 08 2009. The above photo shows the formwork underway for the level-15 post-tensioned slab, which is scheduled to be poured on Friday, July 17 2009. This view is looking southeast towards the northwest corner of the building, taken from the park above the OHSU parking garage.

This view is of the southwest side of the tower of Mirabella, taken from the ground floor entry courtyard. The window wall system is now being installed at the tower (north) through level-4, with exterior metal stud framing now taking place at level-7. The yellow structure (in the center of the photo) is the base of the tower crane.

Above is an interior view looking northwest in a level-2 Skilled Nursing apartment, taken near the southwest corner of the podium. The gypsum wall board placement is now complete at the podium, south half, of level-2. This is immediately followed by taping, finish work and unit paint.

This is an interior view of a level-3 Apartment, taken near the southwest corner of the podium. The interior metal stud wall framing is now complete, and gypsum wall board is being placed throughout the podium, south half, of level-3. The half-wall, in the center of the photo, separates the kitchen from the living areas of this apartment.

Above is a view looking northeast from a level-4 Apartment. The Ross Island Bridge and the beautiful Willamette River can be seen through the large windows. Now that the windows have been installed, interior metal stud wall framing will now begin at the tower side (north half) of level-4.

This is a view from the southeast corner of SW River Parkway and Pennoyer Street looking northwest at the east side of Mirabella. Visible in the foreground is the southeast corner of the podium (south half), with the tower (north half) climbing in the background. Windows have been placed through level-6 of the podium (south half) and are currently being installed at level-4 of the tower (north half).

Work is taking place to pour the last of the landscape walls and planter boxes at the level-5 community rooftop deck (south half of building) this is visible in the center right of the above picture. The level-5 community rooftop deck is planned to include an outdoor barbeque area, an outdoor fireplace along with several sitting areas. It is destined to be a great place to socialize with your future neighbors! This is a view looking southwest, taken from level-7.

This view is of the west side or entry side of Mirabella taken from Pennoyer and SW Moody looking east across the future South Waterfront Community Park. The City of Portland continues to work on the park, visible by the excavators in the lower right of the photo. The park is scheduled to open late fall of this year (2009).The streetcar can be seen at the lower left of the photo as it heads toward downtown Portland.
