Construction is Under Way!
June 25, 2009

Mirabella continues to climb! In the above photo the level-13 post-tensioned slab formwork is now underway. The Construction Hoist, also known as the Man Lift, now has access to level-7 (orange exterior elevator, lower center of photo). This is used as transportation for workers and materials during construction. This aerial view is from the northwest and is taken from the 15th floor observation deck of the OHSU Center for Health and Healing.

A closer aerial view as the flier table (middle right) is lifted into position. The flier tables seen extruding from the slab at the center and center left of the photo are the next tables to be lowered, swung out from under the slab and lifted into place. In the center of the photo the placing boom (orange boom and hose) can be seen pouring concrete for structural columns.

This view is of the courtyard side of the podium (south half) of Mirabella. The window system on level-1 (lower right) is a curtain wall system. The window wall system on level-2 is also known as a punched opening. The large window sections visible on level-3 through level-4, of the podium, are examples of the window wall system with spandrel glass. CSMU (calcium silicate masonry unit) has been placed on level-2, visible in the center to center right of the photo. The CSMU is the masonry aspect of the façade system.

This is a view from the southwest corner of SW Bond Avenue and Pennoyer Street looking northeast. Visible in the foreground is the southwest corner of the podium (south half), with the tower (north half) climbing in the background. The Fraco lift system, center of photo, is being utilized to place the CSMU (calcium silicate masonry unit). The entry canopy, which will lead to the main entrance to Mirabella, is visible at the lower left of photo.

Above is an interior view looking southwest from a level-2 Skilled Nursing apartment, taken near the southwest corner of the podium. The interior metal stud wall framing is now complete, and gypsum wall board is being placed throughout the podium, south half, of level-2.

This view is looking northwest in a residential apartment home located at the southwest corner of level-4. Interior metal stud wall framing has reached level-6 at the podium (south half) and level-2 at the tower (north half). Also visible in the above photo is soffit and ceiling framing, plumbing rough-in (lower left), HVAC ductwork (silver and black ducting upper middle) electrical wiring and the location of fire sprinklers (orange cpvc upper left and upper middle).

Another beautiful morning in Portland as the sun highlights the tower of Mirabella! This is a view of the north and east sides of Mirabella taken along SW River Parkway.
