Construction is Under Way!
December 22, 2008

The above photograph of Portland’s South Waterfront District was taken December 22, 2008 during the blast of winter weather received in the middle and latter part of December. The above view is looking southward from the 15th floor eco-terrace of the OHSU Center for Health & Healing. While area roadways required traction devices during this period, Portland Streetcar and Portland Aerial Tram services remained available, making residents of the South Waterfront District among the best connected citizens in the entire metro area.

A bird’s-eye view of the construction site from the northwest shown about midway through the blast of winter weather received from the middle to latter part of December. While slick area roadways and jobsite surfaces postponed some jobsite work during the time the above photograph was taken, significant jobsite progress still occurred during the month of December, including: the majority of remaining Garage Level slab-on-grade concrete has been poured at the northwest and northeast quadrants, formwork for the garage vehicular access ramp and Ground Floor (Level 1) northwest quadrant slabs is in progress, Level 3 southeast and southwest post-tensioned concrete slabs have been poured, and formwork is in progress for Level 4 southeast and southwest post-tensioned concrete slabs.
